Classical Drawing and painting Art School

 

We are a Classical Art School located in the heart of the NoDa Arts District of  Charlotte, North Carolina. 

NCAA offers training to students of all skill levels in classical drawing and oil painting techniques.

The school was originally founded in 2014 by Osiris Rain. In 2017, Mark Gucciardi and Pascale Ropert became the new owners of the school.

Our Faculty

Our Art Director and principal instructor, Mark A. Gucciardi studied at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy from 1998 to 2002. He became an assistant drawing instructor from 2000 to 2002, as well as teaching summer workshops at the Academy in figure, landscape and portrait painting. Gucciardi has also taught at The Florence Design Academy and the Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Florence, Italy. His paintings, drawings are featured in numerous private collections in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Our Curriculum

The curriculum follows the classical approach drawing and oil painting classes.  The drawing classes are split between figure life drawing and Bargues plates /casts drawing. The painting classes are split between Figure life painting and Painting projects (Still Lives, Portrait, Landscape).

The school offers a part-time and a full-time program in the classical Atelier style.

Admissions and fees

We accept all levels in the Part-Time or Full-Time program.

Part-time students can enroll at ANY TIME during the year based on spaces available (12 weeks blocks).

Full-Time students curriculum works on a term basis (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer).
