Classical Drawing and painting Art School
We are a Classical Art School located in the heart of the NoDa Arts District of Charlotte, North Carolina.
NCAA offers training to students of all skill levels in classical drawing and oil painting techniques.
BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME and no Portfolio is needed.
The Academy was founded in 2014 by Osiris Rain. In 2017, Pascale Ropert — the school's very first student — took over as owner and director, restoring the Academy to its full potential and continuing its tradition of classical training today.
Our Faculty
Our Principal instructor, Christopher Pariano is an artist raised in North Carolina. With a bachelors in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design followed by 7 years at the Watts Atelier, Pariano sought further education in his goal of an honest observational quality and a strong sense of design in his art.
Christopher's work has won numerous academic and local awards, from Scholastics golden keys and the Governer's Award in high school, to 1st place in Fine Arts Wilmington, and Best in Show ( all media), First Place ( oil), Second Place ( water media) in Bill and Ann Litaker's winter art show, Mint Hill arts, First prize for Plein Air Painting (oil) among others. He was featured as " an outstanding US art student in Art Calender Magazine.
Our Curriculum
The curriculum follows the classical approach drawing and oil painting classes. The drawing classes are split between figure life drawing and Bargues plates /casts drawing. The painting classes are split between Figure life painting and Painting projects (Still Lives, Portrait, Landscape).
The school offers a part-time and a full-time program in the classical Atelier style.
Admissions and fees
We accept all levels in the Part-Time or Full-Time program.
Part-time students can enroll at ANY TIME during the year based on spaces available (12 weeks blocks).
Full-Time students curriculum works on a term basis (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer).
